A STELLAR u/DiamondDealer Review
Another amazing /u/diamonddealer review: Best Engagement Rings & Diamonds in Los Angeles
They were never too push and really provided insightful info/tips 🙂
I cannot express in words how easy and painless the entire process was. I highly recommend Dan and Concierge Diamonds.
Early on in my engagement ring purchasing journey I ventured into a local jewelry store and left with a bad taste in my mouth. To be fair I knew nothing about diamonds and was at the mercy of the salesperson. After that terrible experience I decided to do as much research as possible so that I could make an informed diamond purchase.
Fast forward a few months later and after countless hours of research I stumbled upon Concierge Diamonds through several glowing reviews on Reddit. Dan had amazing reviews and seemed like the kind of person I would want to work with.
Armed with an enormous amount of diamond knowledge, I shot Dan an email asking if he could help me find a diamond with very specific qualities. I had a specific set of specifications that the diamond had to meet including: crown angle, table %, depth %, pavilion angle etc., all within a very narrow range.
Dan was able to source a few diamonds within my range and I was on my way to look at them in person. The entire experience at Dan's office was casual, stress, and worry free. With Dan's help I was able to select a diamond that I was happy with and that was within my budget. I sent Dan some pictures of the setting and a few weeks later the ring arrived.
Overall, I had a tremendously positive experience with Concierge Diamonds. I cannot express in words how easy and painless the entire process was. I highly recommend Dan and Concierge Diamonds.
Overall - Wonderful experience shopping for and buying engagement ring in Los Angeles
Overall wonderful experience. Everyone was very cordial, and friendly. It was very easy to make appointments and to stay in contact. I was fairly new coming into this hunt for an engagement ring, but they made if very easy, detailing every thing, giving me a quick crash course, and making sure that they are on the same page as me even when I did not know how to describe something. Although they made a mistake the first run through and returned to me a different set of diamonds than what I was looking for, they made a quick turnaround to find some gorgeous well-priced diamonds.
Concierge Diamonds Engagement Ring Jeweler Review
Everyone was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and patient. Dan (the owner) broke down where I’d get the most value for my money and where people tend to overspend without seeing a difference in the ring. Aubrey helped me design the setting and it turned out even better than I hoped for. A similar diamond at a major store cost A LOT more. I highly recommend everyone here without any hesitation!
They absolutely understood that even though making an engagement ring is a typical day for them, it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me. They all helped me feel 100% comfortable and confident that I got it right, all without being pushy or trying to up-sell at all. I really can’t say enough about them!
We needed someone we could trust to guide us through this without us becoming temporary experts. Dan did this for us.
tldr - Dan and his team are incredibly professional and I am so happy with the ring, I can't believe it. Sometimes it is hard to go off of internet recommendations but reddit has come through again (thanks!). The customer service that they offer is above and beyond and they did a great job catering to my girlfriends different questions and design preferences. He is the FIRST jeweler I have trusted.
J.M., Los Angeles, CA
Dan Moran, owner of Concierge Diamonds, was referred to me by a Friend, and he is the FIRST JEWELER I have ever trusted to leave my most valuable and special jewelry with. He took a now 4th generation Family ring and turned it into a masterpiece engagement ring. I only wish there were more than 5 stars I could give to everyone at Concierge Diamonds. The ring is absolutely gorgeous, but the best gift of all was finding such a professional jeweler that I can trust and proudly recommend to my closest friends.
The Ring is PERFECT.
Robert, Lake Arrowhead, CA
You did an absolutely perfect job on the ring. I could not be happier with how you treated me or my family and will recommend you to anyone I can. You have been nothing but professional and truly made our day more special than I could have imagined. She is beside herself over how gorgeous the ring is!!!! From the setting to the diamond, you truly are a master. Thank you.
Julia, Disneyland, CA
He told me that he had bought me a caricature at Disneyland for my birthday, which was super exciting because I have always wanted one. So just as we were finishing the drawing, the artist asked us to stand, which I thought was strange, and then she asked me to double check if my name was spelled correctly. Double strange. She turned the picture towards me and it said, "Julia, will you marry me?" and I turned around and Daniel was on his knee with the ring we had designed together in early October. Come to find out, he had planned this almost a month ago, and had a friend of ours there to take photos of the proposal. It was so perfect.
Huge thanks to /u/diamonddealer for being involved in the process and helping us design our perfect ring! I love it and the amount of detail and work put into this is something I will treasure forever. The entire staff was so great to work with and my fiance had only good things to say about the process of shipping the ring, designing it, and making sure it fit our vision as a couple. This is my dream ring and I am so excited I get to wear it for the rest of my life.
I am so glad I found Dan Moran & Concierge Diamonds
Paul K., Los Angeles, CA
What can be said about Dan @ Concierge Diamonds /u/diamonddealer that hasn't been said already. He was great to work with and made the process very easy. Suffice to say, I am very happy with my decision to work with him and his team.
Backstory (long): I am fortunate enough to live in Los Angeles where Dan's office is. Unfortunately, he was not the first person I went to. I looked at diamonds from a range of jewelers, including but not limited to high-end independent jewelers, shady jewelers in the nearby Jewelry District, and everything in between. I had also gone to a jeweler who had great reviews on Yelp, but when I met with him, even though he was very friendly and didn't pressure me into buying anything, a lot of his methods were questionable, such as placing the diamonds on a blue mat.
I must have looked at over 50 stones in total trying to find the perfect one but I am so glad and relieved I was able to find Dan.
Where to buy a diamond in Los Angeles...
Richard: Where to Buy A Diamond in Los Angeles (Reddit)
This is coming a few months later than intended, but I wanted to give a shoutout to Concierge Diamonds and /u/diamonddealer for being a huge help in my quest for an engagement ring for my fiancee. As a lurker of the interwebs, I was looking at a bunch of websites to get an idea for what I'd like, but felt like any purchase I'd make was going to be super uncertain and risky especially when you talk about the size of the purchase.
I happened upon a post on reddit where someone was asking opinions on the diamond they had their eyes on, and saw Dan Moran - the diamonddealer, post with a plethora of facts, tips, and suggestions to help them make the correct purchase. He seemed super forthcoming, especially given that the advice he was giving was free of charge. I sent him a message detailing what I was looking for, and he invited me to his office which was perfect given that I live in LA.
The diamond I ended up with was fantastic and my wife loved it.
One of the points I wanted to focus on this review was the amount of post-purchase support I’ve received from his team. While Dan and his team are based in LA, I am not and this was a large concern of mine prior to purchase. However, since then, I’ve had both rings re-sized by Dan, polished and recently had a pave diamond replaced (my fault). In each of these situations, the support I’ve received has been nothing short of stellar.
I highly recommend talking to Dan and his team, even if you have something already picked out. They’re a great team and even after the engagement & wedding, I’m glad I went through them.
What I thought I knew about diamonds has changed after I spoke with Dan.
I've been looking at diamonds for months and I had a few in mind until I spoke with Dan. Let me tell you, what I thought I knew about diamonds has changed after I spoke with him. As much as the 4 C's are important, fluorescence also plays a major role! I ended up going much lower on clarity and color than I had been searching and it has saved me a lot of money, and I honestly could not tell the difference looking at the ring in person.
Working with Dan is waaaaay less stressful than figuring things out yourself or working with a brick & mortar jewelers. He focuses on what YOU like, YOUR budget, and gives you a variety of diamonds to choose from. There was absolutely no pressure to buy from Dan, but being such a trustworthy person he is, you can't help but do business with him. He really does bring customer service into a personal level and that's quite hard to find in the jewelry business. So thank you /u/diamonddealer! My fiancee LOVES her ring and we both appreciate you very much!
If you are in a market for a diamond/ring or anything related, do yourself a favor and contact Dan. He will work with you personally and his team is the best!
Greetings from Denver!
Jay, Denver, COGreetings from Denver!Wanted to let you know that her ring gets comments in her clinic in a daily basis...since you guys did such a wonderful job! And she marvels at it daily even 6 months laterThank you!-Jay
I loved working with these people!
"I loved working with these people! They helped me craft a beautiful ring for the most beautiful woman! Thanks guys!"
This Ring is Beyond Perfection
Dan, Jill, Aubrey and the team, THANK YOU for making a dream come true. You exceeded all expectations with ease. AND thanks for the delicious chocolate. Thank you guys!!! This ring is BEYOND PERFECTION! I can’t stop looking at it 😍😍😍
Dan Moran (aka /diamonddealer) is awesome!
Another huge endorsement for Dan - /u/diamonddealer. After going into every jewelry shop in the area, spending hours and hours online shopping and research, I decided to contact Dan after reading the reviews.
I'll skip the details, but will point out a few things: The fact that I'm in Nashville and he is in LA presented no issues. I was able to stick to my budget - not a huge one - without any problem. Everyone I dealt with during the process was friendly and helpful. I could not be happier with how the ring turned out. If you're in the market for a ring, do yourself a favor and contact him.
I proposed at the zoo!
Ben, Los Angeles
I browsed around for a few weeks at mall & local jewelers as well as delving pretty deeply into online sites and forums. Most of the material and shares were about diamonds, but she preferred a gemstone and I wanted to share the beauty that can come with a blue sapphire engagement ring. It's much cheaper than a diamond, so you can splurge a little bit and get a larger stone (mine was ~9 x 7 mm).
Hopefully this will dispel your reservations if you were considering going non-traditional! Of course, the whole "ordeal" of shopping and getting a loose stone designed into something dazzling was made quite easy by /u/diamonddealer. I did a lot of my research beforehand and gave Dan a ton of specifics on my particular request. He envisioned what I had in mind within a couple e-mails, set up a meeting to show me a few sapphires that I chose from (I loved the first one), and allayed many of my qualms as I waited for the final ring to be made.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck to the boyfriends that are looking to propose!
She loved it!
She loved it !!!!
Thanks Dan !!!
Thank you. For everything, thank you.
Dan,Chris, New JerseyThank you. Concierge Diamonds will be the only engagement ring diamond dealer I recommend to my friends and family!
This email should have been sent to you weeks ago but I wanted to thank you so much for your help with picking out the perfect engagement ring. I can't put into words how thankful I am for you and everyone else and Concierge who worked so hard to make this possible for me. Your customer service and professionalism was better than anything I have ever experienced. The entire process ran smoother than I could have ever imagined. My fiancé and I were blown away by the quality and look of the ring and diamond. Even my friends who would never comment on things like this can't believe I got such an amazing ring. Concierge will be the only diamond dealer I recommend to my friends and family!William D, Texas
Big difference from trying to work with the "custom ring" processes from some of the big online retailers.
Super excited about this unique ring design my finacée found and shared with me, I can't stop looking at it on her finger!
Big shout out to /u/diamonddealer who was absolutely great to work with. We went in, had a fun time learning about and examining diamonds, and when we showed him the ring concept there were no concerns, just "yup, we can do that!". Big difference from trying to work with the "custom ring" processes from some of the big online retailers, who all told me that they essentially couldn't do it. Size 5.5, 0.91ct marquise in 18kt setting. 😍
10/10, would work with Dan again.
We love Dan. Bought an engagement ring and two wedding bands here in Los Angeles after my first one was stolen by a piece of $&*@. Dan was a pleasure to work with each time. Unlike other vendors in the jewelry district that transport you to a flea market in Tehran in 1978, Dan's demeanor exemplifies what one might expect from a seller of high-priced luxury items in Los Angeles in 2017. He's patient, explains things well (but do your own research too!), and each time I was extremely pleased both with the bang for the buck, and more importantly, with the quality of our jewelry. My wife regularly receives compliments on her ring, and I love my band.Salik M, Los Angeles
DiamondDealer even flew his personal plane to an airport nearby to hand deliver my engagement ring;
She said yes! Special Thanks to /u/DiamondDealer
About a week ago I popped the question to her, and she said yes! I just wanted to post a public review for /u/DiamonDealer (Concierge Diamonds in LA, California) as he really helped me pick out the perfect ring at a perfect price. I highly recommend him, even if you aren't local to the area.Brian, Palo Alto, CA
Originally I was going to purchase my ring from Blue Nile or James Allen, but I found /u/DiamondDealer on this subreddit and (after vetting his comment history) at the very least wanted his opinion.
After showing DiamondDealer my James Allen pick, he walked me through different price/quality trade offs that I could make and how they would be visibly impact the final piece. At this stage, DiamondDealer was just trying to help me make the most informed purchase possible; there was absolutely no pressure to purchase through him. I ended up going for a lower clarity and color diamond in exchange for size, and I'm glad I did! He found a diamond that had a flaw near the edge that lowered the price significantly, but would ultimately be hidden under a prong on a finished ring. At concierge diamonds they took close up photos of all my diamond candidates to highlight flaws and compare color. They also sent videos of the diamonds side by side and in different lighting conditions on a real human's hand to give a true feel on how the diamonds look. All of this happened over the course of two or three weeks, and in the end I got a custom ring of much higher quality than Blue Nile or James Allen at a cheaper price!
As if getting a great deal wasn't enough, DiamondDealer even flew his personal plane to an airport nearby to hand deliver my engagement ring; I can't think of any other company that would do that! Besides the actual proposal, everyone loves and can't believe this part of the story!
My Fiance loves that her ring was custom made and that there is no other ring exactly like it. Thanks DiamondDealer!
Overall, I highly recommend Dan and Concierge Diamonds. Thanks again for a great experience!
After obsessively researching diamond dealers and the 4 C's online for what felt like forever, I stumbled across reviews of Dan's services on Reddit. From his comments and YouTube videos, I immediately knew this was the guy I wanted to work with to design a custom engagement ring.
I called Dan and gave him an idea of what I was looking for, and we set up an appointment for the next day. When I met with him in person, he was incredibly patient and personable, making sure that he first educated me on all aspects of selecting a diamond. We looked at several diamonds in my price range through a loupe, comparing the 4 C's until we finally settled on "the one." We decided on the specs of the setting and that was it! The finished product was ready within two weeks and came out better than I could have imagined.
Dan's friendly, no-pressure, consultative approach stands out in an industry that is full of salesmen looking to rip you off. I never felt pressured by Dan and truly felt that he was looking out for my best interest first and foremost. Dan understands that most guys are completely out of their element making this kind of nerve wracking, once in a lifetime purchase, but his style actually makes it a fun experience.
Aubrey and the rest of the team are also super helpful and responsive. We needed a slight adjustment to the band size and they were able to turn it around in just over an hour.
Overall, I highly recommend Dan and Concierge Diamonds. Thanks again for a great experience!RICH K, Los Angeles
My FI and I are both incredibly impressed by how easy the process was and how perfectly he replicated our vision of my dream ring.
A couple months ago boy started asking for input on a ring. He made a post on Reddit looking for some direction and got in contact with Dan Moran of Concierge Diamonds based out of Los Angeles, California. We picked out the diamond together and designed my dream setting, all from across the country. Boy forwarded me a few emails to confirm the final design but I told him I did not want to know when it was done or shipped and wanted to be as surprised as possible.
Yesterday after I got home from work, we decided to go grocery shopping. We hop in the car and boy says he actually has to go to the bathroom before we leave and runs back up to the apartment. A couple minutes later he returns and starts backing the car out of the parking lot. He reaches over and pops open the glovebox and I notice a bag of Crazy Bones (I told him these were a favorite childhood toy/collectible of mine when we first started dating and ever since he has surprised me with bags here and there periodically). So still nothing seeming out of the ordinary. I open the bag and immediately notice something sparkly! I lose my shit. “What?! Now?! In the car?!” He asks, “So is that a yes?” All while still driving. I say yes more times than is necessary and proceed to giggle scream all the way home. He turns the car around and says we are not actually going grocery shopping because we have fancy dinner reservations and I need to go get pretty. We walk back up to the apartment where there are now rose petals scattered everywhere and a bottle of wine is waiting. We drink the whole bottle while I’m doing my makeup and nails and then leave for a lovely evening at the fanciest restaurant in town.
I am SO stupid happy. And I also have to give another shoutout to Dan at Concierge Diamonds. My FI and I are both incredibly impressed by how easy the process was and how perfectly he replicated our vision of my dream ring.

Dan, Kelli, and everyone else at Concierge Diamonds couldn't have been more amazing. CALL THEM!
So, I'd been wanting to propose to my girlfriend for quite some time, however I'm currently living outside of the US, and for a number of reasons I wanted to buy my engagement ring in the states. Lucky me though; I was going to be in the states for a week, I can just buy it then!
Now, I don't know what kind of madness led me to believe that shopping for an engagement ring wouldn't be very difficult. As any of you who have, or are looking to buy, an engagement ring, probably know it's a very complicated process that takes time, research, planning, etc. This somehow did not occur to me. I decided I would start looking once I got back to the states.
It didn't take long to learn ring shopping is no easy feat. I realized almost instantly that I knew absolutely nothing about engagement rings, how to shop for them, what I should be looking for, what I should be wary of, all of it. And to complicate things, I had one week in the states, and my girlfriend had always told me that she wanted an emerald rather than a diamond as the main stone in her engagement ring.
I started googling phrases like, "How to shop for an engagement ring" and "How to tell if an engagement ring is worth the cost". I got your typical results back. Don't go to a big chain, try to find a local jeweler, make sure they work with one of the respected gem grading services, I was referred to bluenile.com and other internet jewelers, etc. Looking at the internet jewelers was an exercise in frustration. First of all, many of them don't allow you to customize a ring unless the center stone is a diamond, and those that do... Let's just say that I was having a minor panic attack at how small an emerald I could afford given my (not insubstantial) budget.
So, late Tuesday night (I would be leaving the following Sunday) I turned to reddit. I searched for similar phrases, and again and again I saw a username coming up with nothing but praise: /u/diamonddealer. I only wanted small diamonds on either side of the emerald, but I thought I'd send him a message and maybe he could refer me to someone who works with other precious stones.
The next day he replied that although he himself specializes in diamonds, a member of his team specializes in other stones and that if I gave him my phone number she'd give me a call. Thirty minutes later I was on the phone with Kelli. I explained to her what I wanted: a white gold band, with a round cut emerald surrounded on either side by a small diamond, gave her my budget, and then dropped the bomb. I would be leaving on Sunday. They're actually closed on the weekends so the ring would need to be finished and picked up by Friday (lucky for me I was in San Diego and they're in Los Angeles so at least that part wasn't a huge deal). Now again, it's Wednesday afternoon. I asked her if she thought what I asking for was even possible. Her response was, "I think so. It'll basically be like pulling a rabbit out of a hat, but I think we can do it."
I want to quickly praise Kelli and Dan for something that I didn't experience in my conversations with any other jewelers. During all of my conversations with Kelli and Dan, not once did they try to 'upsell' me. No hassling me about 18k gold instead of 14k. No, "You know what would make this ring even prettier? More diamonds!". In fact, they actively worked at every step of the process to save me money and give me the best possible ring within my budget.
The following day, I got an e-mail with hi-res pictures and video of potential emeralds within my price range. No joke, the stones they found were more than double the size of the emeralds I was finding anywhere else (except the one site that got me all excited until I looked up their reviews which boiled down to, 'So we took this in for an appraisal and the emerald is actually glass...") The stone I liked the most was juuust out of my price range, and I e-mailed Kelli asking if there was some way that we might save some money elsewhere so I could afford the more beautiful emerald. Her and Dan's response? Of course, we'll figure something out. And they did. If this ring was going to be finished in time, they needed to start work right away, so I gave them the thumbs up, put down a deposit, and then had one of the longest twenty-four hour periods of my life.
Friday I drove up to Los Angeles with my grandma (I was so nervous I needed someone to come with me so I didn't go insane.) We arrived at Dan's beautiful office in the jewelry district in Los Angeles and it was time. I opened the box, and it was honestly exactly what I wanted, except a little better in every possible way. It couldn't have been better had I conjured the ring with my mind. Kelli and Dan truly did pull a rabbit out of a hat on this one, but why use words when I can just show you all a picture: imgur.com/a/8pMCH

It came out exactly how I wanted!
My fiancé got my ring here and I couldn't love it more! He had found Dan on Reddit and said it was the smoothest and easiest process. My ring came out gorgeous and exactly like what I had pictured/wanted. I highly recommend them especially if you love halo designs!!!Shiva, Los Angeles

It was an incredible experience from the start and one that I'm very grateful for.
I was in the market for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I never realized what a daunting task it could be. I did all the requisite research and I was still as confused as ever. I saw a few posts about Dan (u/diamonddealer) and I thought "yes, I know this is crazy, reaching out to a guy on Reddit about one of the most important purchases of my life, but what do I have to lose". From the moment I messaged him it was a great experience. He and Kim were amazing. They answered all my inane questions, Dave me straight easy to understand answers and best of all did not make me feel like they were trying to 'sell' me. Even when I told them I was shopping other places at the same time they were generous with their time and knowledge. It was an incredible experience from the start and one that I'm very grateful for. Thanks for everything Dan and Kim!!
Tl:dr. Dan's amazing, reach out to him, you'll be glad you didsoul-warden, New York, NY
We were so scared of the ring-buying experience, and never expected it to go so smoothly or to feel so casual. Thank you SO much for helping us feel at ease!
I can't tell you how happy we are to have worked with you, Dan, and the rest of your team. Wade and I were in shock on the entire ride home -- we couldn't believe we found a ring we both liked, could afford it, actually bought it, and did all of that without any anxiety or second-guessing whatsoever, all in the same day! That's so NOT us (well, me)! He laughs at me for comparison-shopping dry erase markers for days, for goodness sake. I'm the ultimate waffler on almost every decision, and never in a million years would've imagined that I'd have picked a ring in less than 10 minutes, but it felt so right. I had a gut feeling that if we didn't get it, it would forever be "the one that got away." I only wish that the whole experience HADN'T gone so fast, so I'd have more time to savor the excitement! We really have been on cloud 9 since we left the building, and we owe it all to the incredible atmosphere and fantastic people you guys have. We were so scared of the ring-buying experience, and never expected it to go so smoothly or to feel so casual. Thank you SO much for helping us feel at ease! Please extend our gratitude to everyone on the team -- they were all so friendly, even in passing, that we left wishing we could get to know every single person!
We will gladly return to talk about wedding bands, so I'll definitely be in touch in the near future. Looking forward to working with you again soon!Christine, Los Angeles
She woke up every morning staring at her engagement ring.
If you’re looking for a diamond, the perfect diamond, look no further than /u/diamondealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamondealer) (aka Dan Moran of Concierge Diamonds). Seriously, just ask him. It honestly won’t hurt. That’s what I did and I’m 100% honestly so %&#&!! happy I did.

I managed to have self-control and NOT peek at it at all until he finally proposed, and can I just tell you how much I LOVE IT.
Hello everyone!!!! 🙂 We wanted to share the good news and thank you guys x1000000000!!!!!!! We're officially ENGAGED!
He proposed a couple weeks ago when we went on vacation at Disney World, right in front of Cinderella's castle in Magic Kingdom at night! 🙂 (unfortunately didn't get any clear high-quality photo of the actual proposal, but that's ok!) He succeeded in surprising me, even though we had (obviously) previously discussed the ring together and I knew when it had arrived at our apartment! I managed to have self-control and NOT peek at it at all until he finally proposed, and can I just tell you how much I LOVE IT.
Thank you Dan for helping us so much upfront with the emails to numerous phone calls, advice, videos, honesty, everything, all while you were moving into your new office! Thank you to everyone we talked to at your office (Aubrey & Carla) for being so friendly and excited for us through this process, and incredibly helpful and responsive too!!!!! The ring is absolutely gorgeous and my fiance says that every time he looks at it it gets more and more beautiful! 🙂 Thank you all for the AMAZING job again!!!! We seriously could not have asked for better people than you guys to help us with this!Caroline W, Los Angeles, CA
I sought a different approach, I educated myself, and looked for advice from a more experience person. That person was Dan Moran at Concierge Diamonds.
This is just my experience with u/diamonddealer I am looking forward to putting together a review for them via Instagram in the future after I pop the question but in the mean time wanted to post something here.
I originally spoke with Dan here via Reddit as suggested by users after posting a first time shopper questions.
Previously I've shopped for diamond in person and found people pushy and really trying to get me to commit to things I wasn't happy with. I get it, it's a huge purchase and everyone is trying to get there cut, but I never felt as if my wants and questions were being heard. So I sought a different approach, I educated myself, and looked for advice from a more experience person. That person was Dan at Concierge Diamonds.
The experience changed drastically when speaking with Dan. He was concerned with making sure I got what I wanted and was helped in a manner that was both informative and helpful. I was not sold on anything I didn't want or need. Originally my budget was between 25-30k after speaking with my fiancé to be, this quickly dropped to 7-10k at my surprise she made it clear she still doesn't need all that, and would much rather we spent on the money on our home.
My budget changed from 25-30 down to 2-5k quickly. After already seeking Diamonds in my previous budget, Dan assured me I should take her wishes into consideration and that I've clearly chosen a good woman to be at my side. Dan spent a good amount of time building me a ring that fit into my new budget that became even simpler. We spoke about upgrading down the road and exchanging the current diamond down the road for a bigger ring when we are ready, probably in the 5 year mark.
I never once felt out of the loop or pressured to jump on anything during the process. It took some time mostly due to me being so busy and having trouble getting on the phone to get back to Dan as I could. With work and trying to dodge my to be fiancé as to not not raise any suspicion, Dan was more than patient and understanding with the constant changes and hang ups.
In the end I got exactly what I wanted, but with a higher quality and clearer diamond compared to that price range at other stores. The experience was everything for me and couldn't recommend their company any more. I've told a multitude of friends and coworkers at the same stage in their life.
It's a big decision and can vary significantly, Dan knows the market, is educated in the products and is incredibly kind and helpful, I can't speak highly enough of their services. I hope this review helps other in similar situations.

Cannot recommend Dan Moran & Concierge Diamonds enough!
I went in to this thing knowing only 3 things about the ring I wanted: 1) For the diamond to be round. 2) The ring needs to be yellow gold. 3) The ring/setting had to be unique and not just a plain design you see everybody have. My (now) fiancee is very peculiar with jewelry which made me extremely nervous about the surprise but she is in love with it and refused to take it off even though it was a bit too small. When we took it to Dan to resize it and had to wait till the following day to pick it up, she was so sad to be without it lol.
Granted I don't have any experience with other jewelers or diamond brokers but after dealing with Dan, I don't think I ever will. He takes care of everything: the diamond selection, the ring design, the fabrication of it all, resizing (included), appraisal, polishing once a year and even threw in a delightful box of chocolates. All of that included!! I feel like a diamond expert now and now I have a "diamond guy" which I will refer anyone who asks to. Cannot recommend Concierge Diamonds enough!Adam, Los Angeles
If you're here I'd tell you to ask him about what diamonds Concierge Diamonds offers because you can be confident in what you're buying from him!!
I contacted Dan after I was scammed a few weeks ago to seek help. He was awesome! He didn't ask for business but instead just talked me through what to do. He taught me about Diamonds from an unbiased point of view and was honestly just being a bro via Reddit and eventually phone call. After I sorted out the scam ordeal, I ended up talking to him to buy a diamond. He sent me links and EGL certificates that were awesome! He even sends videos of the actual diamonds, i thought that was really cool.
Anyway, he's a really good guy and has some awesome information. If you're here I'd tell you to ask him about what diamonds Concierge Diamonds offers because you can be confident in what you're buying from him!!
Thanks so much Dan!! PS: She said yes!Reddit Client
It is reassuring to know that Dan stands firmly by every diamond that he sells, offering a full credit toward an upgrade, as well as complementary service (cleaning, prong tightening, sizing, etc.) for life.
After deciding to propose to my girlfriend of 4.5 years, it became necessary to search for just the right diamond engagement ring. Naturally, I started by learning the 4 Cs of diamonds. During this initial research period, I browsed every online diamond resource, including Reddit. It was on this subreddit that I first heard mention of Dan, who had a strong reputation for helping many a Redditor before me find the perfect engagement ring. Since we both lived in Los Angeles, and this process was not as simple as I had anticipated, I decided to message Dan to enlist his help. Before long, we were talking on the phone. While I was fixated on minimum grades of a diamond that I believed would be acceptable, Dan kept it simple. We determined that I was looking for a princess-cut diamond that is white to the eye, 100% clean to the naked eye, and within a pre-determined maximum budget (including a setting). We set a time in two weeks to meet at Dan’s office in the heart of the diamond district to view an appropriate selection of stones.
Dan inspected a minimum of 40-50 stones to pare down to a final selection of 6. He sent pictures, videos, and certificates of a sampling of these stones a week beforehand. When I arrived at Dan’s office, I was greeted by his exceptional staff. Dan and I spent 1.5 hours together behind closed doors inspecting each of 6 stones until I found just the right one. Afterward, Dan helped me decide which setting to select to complement this great stone. I picked up my ring today. I could not be happier with the final product, as well as Dan’s world-class service.
I would describe Dan as having a high level of integrity, an exceptionally knowledgeable jeweler who is honest, meticulous, fair, passionate, and wanting to do right by every customer. I know I will be going to Dan again when it is time to upgrade my ring. It is reassuring to know that Dan stands firmly by every diamond that he sells, offering a full credit toward an upgrade, as well as complementary service (cleaning, prong tightening, sizing, etc.) for life.

This ring is AMAZING!!! and the price was incredibly fair for what I received. My advice would be to reach out to Dan and let him help you build a one of a kind piece from scratch.
What an amazing experience it was dealing with user diamondealer aka Dan. After researching stones and settings for months I reached out to Dan and he was able to help guide me through the whole process from helping me pick out a stone for a good price to custom building a setting around it. Even after a little miscommunication Dan stepped up and rebuilt the whole setting from scratch to make sure I was happy with the result. This ring is AMAZING!!! and the price was incredibly fair for what I received. My advice would be to reach out to Dan and let him help you build a one of a kind piece from scratch. Also if you don't live in California theres no tax, BONUS lol. Dan thanks again your the best love the new ring.Chris, Indiana

The proposal went great and my fiancee could not be happier with the ring. We are now working with Concierge to pick the perfect wedding bands for us.
I write to add to the list of positive reviews of Dan and Concierge Diamonds.
Dan was very helpful in picking the perfect ring for my fiance. I originally reached out to Dan through Reddit for advise on shops in the NYC area. We scheduled a phone call and it quickly became apparent that Dan was the right person to help us out. We discussed what I was looking for in a ring, which characteristics were most important to me and cost.
Dan was going on vacation so I went through the diamond picking process with Kelli. Shortly after I spoke with Dan, I received an email with images and video of multiple diamonds. Picking the diamond was a bit overwhelming (they all looked great), but with Kelli's help, we identified the right one.
Next was picking the setting. My fiance and I searched online and also visited some local jewelry shops to get an idea of the setting we wanted. We sent a picture of the setting to Concierge.

If you are searching for a diamond, please do yourself a favor and contact Dan Moran from Concierge Diamonds in Los Angeles.
Dan Moran has a no-pressure sales approach which is exactly what I was looking for in making one of the larger purchases of my life. I can't thank him enough for making what could be a stressful situation into an amazing experience.
I was shopping for 'the perfect diamond' for about six months - more intently so in Feb 2017. I was working with jewelers in NJ, NYC, NH, and Philadelphia (not to mention searching bluenile and James Allen... everyday). My significant other wanted a 2 carat emerald cut stone without a halo. I was seeing pricing all over the board from these jewelers - anywhere from $15k for a non-eye clean to $28k for a VVS2.
Based on other Redditors recommendations on this sub and others, I knew that I should at least reach out to /u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) .
During our first conversations, Dan was unbelievably personable - asked about my girlfriend, my life, NJ (where he has family) - he wasn't trying to hard sell me. Once he identified the stone which he thought I would like, he sent the GIA cert, magnified video, and pictures of the stone. Admittedly I was nervous about sending a large amount of money to a person that I hadn't met in person, but he was so responsive, not to mention highly recommended on Reddit/Yelp and highly published. Dan and his team did an amazing job creating the exact setting that I wanted.
In the diamond engagement ring hunt, I had heard from other engaged friends that they have the perfect jeweler. I had contacted many of these 'perfect jewelers' and none of them were able to provide me with the service, price, and availability that Dan provided. If you are searching for a diamond, please do yourself a favor and contact Dan Moran from Concierge Diamonds.James M., New Jersey
I'm speechless. I knew from the video and pictures you provided that the ring and diamond were great but they just didn't do the ring justice once I saw it in person.
I received the ring today and I don't know what to say.. I'm speechless. I knew from the video and pictures you provided that the ring and diamond were great but they just didn't do the ring justice once I saw it in person.
You have been amazing to deal with and I will be recommending you to all my friends going forward and will be in touch when it comes time for our wedding bands.
Thanks for everything,Dennis, Canada
I had no idea that an emerald cut could shine the way that this stone does - it's perfect.
Just wanted to pass along a massive thank you! I picked up the ring this morning from my parents house and brought it into all different kinds of lighting situations. It looks absolutely amazing. I had no idea that an emerald cut could shine the way that this stone does - it's perfect.
I still have a couple of weeks before I plan to propose but will keep you updated. I will be sure to recommend you to all of my friends who are in the process. In fact, I've already reached out to one of my friends who is approaching the time when he will be reaching out to jewelers. I sent him some of the correspondence that we had back and forth including the videos and pictures. He said he will be reaching out in a couple of weeks.
Your no-pressure sales approach is exactly what I was looking for in making one of the larger purchases of my life. I can't thank you enough for making what could be a stressful situation into an amazing experience. After I propose I will be sure to visit reddit with an update and a sincere recommendation. I will also post on my vast social network (LinkedIn and Facebook) to pass along my recommendation of your services.
Thanks again!James, New Jersey
Everything was perfect.
Thanks for everything. I got the ring in a little more than a week ago, and I proposed last Thursday. You guys really turned me in to a life customer. I will be getting back in touch for the wedding bands and any extra jewelry we may need for the wedding. Again, thank you so much. Here's our "official" Facebook photo!Joseph H, Dallas, TX
I got the ring in less than a month, paid a little less than I budgeted, and I know it looks better than similarly priced rings I had looked at in person.
I had been looking for an engagement ring for the past 6 months and I could not quite decide on anything. There were way too many options that I had trouble keeping them straight. I met with local jewelry stores but I always felt like they were trying to take advantage of me.
I randomly discovered this subreddit and dug through the info. After seeing several positive reviews for Dan, I decided to contact him. Extremely nice guy and he found me the perfect stone within a few days. I trusted him so I let them do their thing once I told them what I was looking for.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share with everyone my very positive experience working with u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) . I came to this sub reddit looking for advice on purchasing an engagement ring. Diamonddealer reached out and offered to help. We quickly connected over the phone. Dan (diamondealer) was super helpful in walking me through the process and explaining the different specifications of diamonds. Initially, i was pretty skeptical working and potential buying a diamond from someone that i met over the internet (like most people would). I looked through Dan's posts and did some online research to verify that this was a legitimate person and business, and it sure was.

Dan and his team worked extremely hard to make sure the ring was exactly how I wanted it. From start to finish, working with Dan and Concierge Diamonds was a truly wonderful experience.
If you are in the marking for a diamond or a diamond ring, look no further than Concierge Diamonds. Most guys do a lot of research before buying a diamond, but no amount of research is a substitute for working with a good jeweler. As Dan says, if you don't know jewelry, know your jeweler. As far as I'm convinced there is none better than Dan and Concierge Diamonds.

I finally decided to take the plunge, and recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend, or I guess now Fiancee, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome.
When I first started researching diamonds and rings 3-4 months ago I quickly became overwhelmed, but managed to build up an arsenal of jewelry industry terms, expectations, rebuttals, and the like that allowed me to navigate the obstacle of buying an engagement ring.
I spent countless hours online, visited Zale's, Reed's, Kay's, Finks, spoke with local Jewelers, and even almost checked out several times on James Allen and Diamonds Direct.
It was by chance that I came across Dan Moran's posts on Reddit, and eventually, Concierge Diamonds (his company) on Facebook.
Upon further investigation, the first thing I noticed is that all of the information I piecemealed together could have easily been had if I had just spent time talking to Dan and watching his informative videos on Facebook and YouTube.

Dan's diamond and engagement ring quality is top notch and his prices where well within my budget.
The crazy part is I came in to price stones and ended up buying my dream
diamond that same day. I ultimately picked a stone that was clearer to the
eye and larger than I EVER thought I could afford. I ended up purchasing
then because Dan heard my concerns, and priorities and hand picked the
stone options for me. Everything he had followed what I wanted and I felt
like the service and prices where so good I would be wasting my time
elsewhere and would just end up back with Dan.
I came back 2 days later and he had the ring of my dreams in my hand at an
affordable price. With Christmas time being his busy season I am still
blown away he made this all happen in 2 days.
One of the coolest feelings was walking out of the building and thinking to
myself that I totally have a "diamond guy" that I can tell friends and
Dan made me feel no pressure. He educated me and helped bring me up to
speed. He showed me only the best and his prices where well within my
budget. If I lived across the country I can tell you right now that a
flight out to Dan to buy a ring would have been worth it and it still would
have saved me money on my ring. If anyone has concerns there is not enough
good things I can say about Dan and Concierge Diamonds. Direct message me
and I would be happy to elaborate.

A Rising Star...
Dan is a superb jeweler. I never feel pressured when I meet with him. He's friendly and knowledgable, able to work within any budget, and works tirelessly to get you what you're looking forward to.
Bought an engagement ring from him and I will continue to recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone looking for custom jewelry of any variety. This guy's a rising star with a very clean and transparent approach in an industry known for its sketchiness and opacity.

Dan at Concierge Diamonds could not have been friendlier and easier to work with. I thought being on the other side of the country was going to make buying a ring from him a difficult process, but it was seamless.
He offered expert advice, and a price that couldn't be matched elsewhere. The final product was absolutely stunning, and my fiancé and I are absolutely thrilled.Josh R.
Dan is a true professional who makes absolutely amazing pieces of jewelry. I did a lot of research and had been shopping around for several months before finding Dan.
Not only was Dan by far the most reasonable, he was the one I felt most comfortable working with. He made the engagement ring buying experience an absolute pleasure! ~ James F | Los Angeles, CAJames F.
I am SO thankful that my husband and I met Dan!
...because I simply could not be happier with my diamond ring that he made for me. I felt comfortable with Dan from the start, and I love that I got to design exactly what I wanted. Gone are the days of "choose from these styles and pick your stone" if you have a more specific vision of what you want (I sure did!). I felt like I really could have it all when I discussed what I wanted with Dan. He is a straight-shooter, has a great sense of humor, and most importantly an eye for detail and patience. Dan was recommended to me by a close friend who had also sought his help for her beautiful wedding and engagement rings. We feel like we received a tremendous value for our money, and will treasure my ring forever. I will definitely be returning to Dan for my future jewelry needs!Megan J, Santa Barbara CA
He did not pressure me into buying anything, He was super patient and made sure i'm getting exactly what I want.
I just wanted to post a quick review. Dan Moran aka /u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) was recommended to me by this subreddit and I could not be more happier to get my engagement ring from him. He did not pressure me into buying anything, He was super patient and made sure i'm getting exactly what I want.
I could not be happier with the end result! It turned out to be an unbelievable ring with a gorgeous stone!
Throughout every step from choosing the stone to designing the ring, Dan kept me in the loop, made sure I was happy with what I was receiving and made some pretty solid recommendations based on my expectations.
Prior to going to Dan, I visited several diamond wholesales who were recommended to me by several friends and neither of them could get me a price and value better than what Dan was offering me.

Like most grooms, I was wary of the whole process of diamond shopping. Dan was honest and cooperative. He made the process feel appropriately personal and provided an excellent final product with a level of service that matched.

I don't know how much more I can say about Dan and Concierge Diamonds that hasn't already been said but I (and especially my now wife) couldn't be any happier with the engagement and wedding band he made for us.
Customer service is off the charts and instead of just trying to make a quick sale, Dan educates you so that you can pinpoint exactly what you want and helps you understand what you are looking at.Oliver S
Dan, your ring was a hit at the wedding. Everyone was jealous!!! Thanks again...
I didn't pay that because I went directly to the source instead of a retailer.
Dan was super accommodating and very easy to talk with about a topic I knew nothing about. He wanted to answer any question I had, and it was clear he is super passionate about what he does. For my Fiancee's engagement ring, I selected the diamond first. I used a magnifying glass (I think) to check the quality of the type of diamond I was looking for, and he walked me through how to spot occlusions in the stone.
Made the deal then and there. It was awesome. I ended up going back about 6 months later to see if he could do both my and my Fiancees wedding bands. You can see the results. Both are made of gold, and the diamonds are real.
I priced out everything with the clarity of the stones at other stores after I purchased, and it came out to over 10k total for all 3 rings (Stone is shy over 1 Carat). I didn't pay that because I went directly to the source instead of a retailer.

What followed was a jewelry buying experience that far surpassed my expectations.
First, a photo of the end product. http://imgur.com/dArsFsd
I discovered Dan Moran's (u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) ) business, "Concierge Diamonds", here on Reddit and saw that he was highly recommended by many of the users. Since Los Angeles is close-by to where I live, I decided to make the trip with my fiancee to see him in person. I've contacted him prior to explain the type of diamond we were looking for and the budget I was looking at. What followed was a jewelry buying experience that far surpassed my expectations.
Dan really cares about his customers and regards his business' reputation over trying to get the extra buck. I will highly recommend him to friends and family and will come back to him for my future jewelry purchases.

I wanted to give a shout to /u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) for helping me get an engagement ring for my SO. I stumbled upon this subreddit when googling "diamond district la reddit" and clicking on all the links one of them being the AMA /u/diamonddealer (https://www.reddit.com/u/diamonddealer) did.
Needless to say, he walked me through the process of buying a diamond and empowered me to pick a diamond that I fell in love with. I cannot recommend this guy enough if you're in the SoCal area and need someone to help you out. Thanks again Diamond Dealer Dan.

I would not have gotten this kind of service from a large online retailer or even a large corporate jeweler so at least know and trust your jeweler when making such an important step.
After a few online conversations about the style of ring my girlfriend wanted he invited me to his office in LA as I live in the general area (again I felt no pressure at all to purchase at that point). As I walked in I felt extremely comfortable and was greeted by Aubrey who was also very helpful with communication during this process, shortly thereafter Dan invited me into his office. At this point I was still clueless when it came to diamonds, but Dan took the time to educate me. Before even looking at a diamond to choose from he taught me the ends and outs of what to look for when looking at a diamond and surprisingly even ways to save money by prioritizing the 4 C's. Finally it was time to look at diamonds, this was surprisingly exciting and fun. It felt nice to be putting in the effort to find something my girlfriend would truly love and wear forever rather than just going to a giant retailer and picking one from a case.

"I was lucky enough to connect with Dan Before I made a mistake at any of those other places. He will shoot it to you straight and honest. No sales tactics, Dan keeps it real and keeps it in your budget. No hiding anything, no pressure. He wants you to know what you are buying and encourages you to ask questions. I'm pretty confident that I got the best bang for my buck with Dan and he had a ring made for the diamond I chose after I showed him a picture of what I was looking for. Overall, a great experience. you will walk away feeling super good about your purchase with not a doubt in your mind if you made the right choice."jboog2664

Fast, friendly, and courteous service! The statement stands true: "If you don't know your jewelry, get to know your jeweler!". Dan, Tom, and Aubrey were beyond helpful and professional the entire process. Will recommend to all of my friends and family!ED, Los Angeles, CA
Despite my extensive search, Dan ended up with a MUCH better stone than what I could find.
Over 6 months, Dan of Concierge Diamonds patiently worked with me in finding the perfect stone. He wasn't pushy. He was honest with his opinion. He respected my approach and goals, and he encouraged my pursuit which involved several other vendors, both online and in person.
Truthfully, I didn't think I would actually end up buying from Dan, because I figured I could do better with the near-endless online inventory. I spent about 200 hours over 6 weeks searching. Despite my extensive search, Dan ended up with a MUCH better stone than what I could find. In fact, Dan's stone rivals the "super-ideal" stones of the big brands you have have seen from Crafted By Infinity, WhiteFlash, Good Old Gold, Hearts on Fire etc, but without the super-ideal price bump.

I decided to propose a few months ago - I had no idea about what to do. I was ready to make a purchase at Robbins Brothers, but decided to do some more research before I took the leap and, unfortunately, found out that I was probably not getting the best bang for my buck.My suggestion is this: spend a few weeks going to all the engagement ring stores, including Tiffany and any of the "higher-end" boutiques. Get to know the diamonds well, and pick out a few that you think you are ready to buy - THEN, go see Dan and compare the product he offers. I'm certain that like me, you will be very very surprised.
TLDR: Dan's products surpass anything I saw at any retail store, in price, value, look etc. He is very knowledgeable about diamonds. I highly recommend Concierge Diamonds!

Another 5 Star Review
Dan from Concierge Diamonds was a blast to work with. From step one, he told me to do the research, come back with the specs you want for your diamond at your budget and we'll figure it out from there. After going over the 4Cs and some angle measurements he found me the stone in New York (!), and he based in LA, so goes to show where his connections are. Did everything through email and when I got the ring it looked amazing.
Last weekend I proposed to my girlfriend and man does she love it.
Dan at Concierge Diamonds could not have been friendlier and easier to work with.
I thought being on the other side of the country was going to make buying a ring from him a difficult process, but it was seamless. "He is the real deal."
He is the most friendly, customer-minded, honest, and well-versed jeweler I came into contact with. My fiancé loves the ring and can tell the quality of it trumps all of the other rings she sees. Never buy your diamonds or rings at a retail store, stop looking around and get Dan to find the perfect stone and custom make the perfect setting to match. It will be the best quality and it will be the best deal you can find.
Our engagement and wedding ring
Our engagement and wedding rings came out PERFECT! Dan and team were great every step of the way. I know where I'm going for all my jewelry!!!KP Los Angeles
Dan is "my guy" for jewelry
To keep things short I bought an engagement ring this past May from Dan and couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out. For weeks and weeks Dan answered all of my questions regarding everything from the ideal proportions of the particular cut I was shopping for, to 2 different CAD design options for the band. I threw everything I had at him...some doubt, went as far as pointing out other loose diamonds on blue diamond and other online megastores, etc. In the end and looking back on it now 6 months later I really understand the importance of having a professional help broker a deal of this magnitude- You pay for his expertise, quite literally his eye that has seen more diamonds than most people will ever see, and last his offices' professionalism that includes fantastic customer service as well as his personal touch to each order and other intangibles.
