How We Design Our Clients' Engagement Rings
Our designer sketching out our clients’ ring per their specific direction. Each ring we make is hand drawn before being designed in the CAD system. We help the client select the kind of stone and type of band they want. We then draw it by hand and send them the sketch before rendering it in the CAD system. Not only does this allow us the ability to save time and money for the client by sending the files electronically and ensuring we have the right design before we make the ring, it’s kind of a cool thing to watch and gives each ring another layer to its story.
The Four Cs of Diamonds: Carat, Cut, Clarity and Color
There are four standard categories that affect the value of a diamond. They are carat (weight of the diamond), the cut of the diamond, the clarity of the diamond and the color of the diamond.
What Is A Treated Diamond And How Does It Differ From A Natural Diamond?
Treated diamonds, or “enhanced diamonds,” started as natural diamonds that after cutting, someone looked at it and said, “There’s a pretty major flaw in here that I think we can correct”. In other words, sometimes a diamond will have a big piece of graphite right in the middle of it. A big black dot.
And we can correct that by drilling a hole in the diamond with a laser. A very small hole and then bathing that diamond in a solution of very strong acid under high pressure and high temperature. That acid goes down into that little hole and bleaches that black dot white, which improves the appearance of the diamond.
How Does Your Concierge Diamond Service Work If I Don't Live In Los Angeles?
I’ve done many, many engagement rings for people who don’t live in the Southern California area. I will show diamonds with photos, with videos, on Skype, or with other video conferencing. You can get a pretty good idea of what you’re looking at on an extended video of a stone. Then, we’ll do ring design back and forth by email, SMS, etc., and then once the ring is finalized, I send it to you via insured courier.
From Loose Diamonds To Custom Engagement Rings
Dan Moran of Concierge Diamonds explains how he takes his customers through the custom engagement ring process of choosing a diamond, designing a ring, manufacturing it and delivering it to you at a price that is half of what you’d pay in a jewelry store.
How Diamonds Are Cut
A diamond is the hardest thing in the world. That means I can’t break it right? No, it does not mean that. You can, in fact, break a diamond. If you take a diamond and you smash it with a hammer, you’re going to break it. Now, a diamond is the hardest material naturally occurring in the world. That means you can’t scratch it. The surface of a diamond is incredibly resistant to scratching. That’s what the hardness scale really implies. It doesn’t mean you can’t shatter it. You can.
So how do you cut a diamond? Watch and find out.
Fabulous Diamonds I Have Worked With
From $2,000 engagement rings, to $500,000-plus engagement rings, Dan Moran has worked with many, many diamonds. There are a few stones that stand out. He’s worked with a 10-carat round diamond, the GVS2, that sold for $625,000, an intense pink diamond, a vivid blue diamond and a chameleon diamond, where the crystal of the diamond has some malformation in it such that it actually changed color in the sun.
Diamond Cuts And Shapes
There are two categories of diamond cuts: brilliant cut (including round, princess, pear, oval, cushion) and step cut (including emerald and asscher). The cut of the diamond determines how light is reflected and refracted. The most expensive diamond is the round cut due to its many facets.
The Advantages Of Buying Your Diamonds From Concierge Diamonds
There are many places you can buy a diamond. Unlike traditional jewelers who handle diamonds, and rubies, and sapphires, and emeralds, and tourmaline, and topaz, and turquoise, gold, and platinum, and silver as well as watches like Rolex, and Brietling, and Cartier, Concierge Diamonds deal only in diamonds. With this specialization comes cost savings which Concierge Diamonds passes on to their customers.
Diamond Pendants And Necklaces
The process of creating a custom diamond pendant or necklace is basically the same as creating a custom diamond engagement ring except you don’t necessarily need as clean a stone in a set of earrings as you do on a ring. Here’s why.
